West Wing v. Commander in Chief

Let me get this straight. The commentators last night were comparing Barack Obama's speeches to those written by the gifted Aaron Sorkin for The American President and The West Wing. Then John McCain comes out looking like he's picked a Gina Davis from Commander in Chief.

One newscaster I heard this morning said "she's young and she's hot!" Please tell me what the message is with this choice? Do the McCain people honestly believe that women will vote for any woman in the White House? Or is it that men will vote for a hot chick over an intelligent leader?

Who knows what people will vote for nowadays. I guess they think it is a stroke of genius to get women to vote for McCain. But if the old guy kicks off during the 4 yrs. he's in there, is this woman capable of running a country. What are her qualifications, that she was governor of Alaska? Come on. I imagine that they feel that women are mad about Obama not picking Hillary for V.P. and figured-look at us we have picked a woman. Biden will have to not attack her viscously in the debates because she is a woman. So who knows maybe they are smarter than the Democrats. Pretty sad state if affairs.

Did they not care that she's under an ethics investigation for trying to get her former brother-in-law fired and when his boss would cave, she fired him? Let's all sing along with Christine Lavin: "What were they thinking?"

I meant to say when the Boss WOULDN'T cave, of course.

life has begun to imitate fiction a little more than i'm comfortable with lately :-\ and really, does he think hillary supporters are going to be fooled by a pro-life replacement, or that they'll just vote for anyone in a pantsuit? that's really patronizing to women.

One of the things I keep hearing is that she's a soccer mom. Hmmmm, I'm impressed. I agree with m.c. valada when she mentioned Christine Lavin's song "What Were They Thinking?" That's a great song, by the way.
